Welcome to the Advanced Certificate Training
for Mortgage Field Services Inspectors.

This course was created to help new and developing inspectors understand the work before accepting field assignments. Mortgage field service inspections may look simple from the outside, but companies rely on inspectors to read work orders carefully, follow instructions, document properties correctly, take useful photos, meet due dates, and communicate problems professionally.

Useful Beyond Mortgage Field Services
Although this training was designed primarily for the mortgage field services industry, many of the same skills apply to other types of property-based field work. Property preservation contractors, insurance and property inspectors, process servers, notaries performing field assignments, occupancy or address verification contractors, and others who visit properties to observe, photograph, document, or report conditions may also find this training useful.
Requirements vary by industry, company, client, and state. This course does not replace any licensing, certification, training, or company-specific requirements that may apply to those professions.
What You Will Learn
Throughout this course, you will learn about work orders, inspection types, occupancy and vacancy indicators, photo standards, ECDs, access issues, homeowner contact, field safety, common mistakes, corrections, chargebacks, route planning, and the realities of working as an independent field inspector.
The goal is not simply to tell you what an inspector does. The course is designed to help you recognize what to look for, understand what the work order requires, take useful photographs, document what you actually observe, and avoid common mistakes that can lead to corrections, rejected inspections, return trips, or lost assignments.
Course Completion
You will take short section quizzes and a final exam. After completing the course requirements and passing the final exam, you will receive your Certified Mortgage Field Services Inspector certificate.
Important Information
This course does not make you an employee or contractor of Mortgage Field Services or any other company, and it does not guarantee contractor approval, assignments, inspection volume, or income. Each company has its own application, onboarding, background check, insurance, coverage, software, and performance requirements.
Take Your Time
Do not rush through the course just to reach the final exam. The purpose is to understand the work well enough to arrive at a property better prepared, make sound field decisions, document conditions professionally, and present yourself as someone field service companies can rely on.
